The FREE Wheel of Wisdom game

Now uploaded to as a Pdf:

You just save it onto memory stick or similar, take it to a print/photocopy shop and get them to print to fit SRA3 card, in colour preferably! Then cut out the shapes – that took me about 4 minutes to do.

“If you’re So smart, How Come You Ain’t Rich?” – a money handbook strictly for the Nerds

My fellow-nerds: it’s here already! Very short, very punchy (IMHO), very free:

if your so smart copy

I went to bed about 3.30 AM, but I basically did it according to Fladlien’s Formula: one problem, one solution, one sitting. The last would have seemed a problem, but with that last cup of tea at dinner, the time flashed by, and I hardly noticed until it was ‘done’ – good enough for a first edition, to get some feedback, some FAQs, and some encouragement to go on and write Letters Two Three and beyond. All at the one sitting (each).

I recommend it as a way to break potential writer’s blocks, get stuff out there, and find out if it’s worth doing more.

I will now tweet it, and retire to the land i guess to edit the 2000-page epic.

oh, yes overnight (from 3.30ish to now, about 7 hours, it has had over 100 views and 26 downloads on Smashwords. Not bad… It will be interesting to see what it does when it ‘hits’ Barnes & Noble, which happens when it is approved for ‘premium distribution’.

I have no idea what the nerds will think of it. Or their mothers. I hope they take it to heart, bitter though the message may be. It might just save some from a lifetime of beating their heads against the glass wall of an unrecognised Social order.

Also on Amazon (when they process it – always slower!), at 99cents, their minimum price apart from KDP Select free days, but you have to make it exclusive to do that, and that is just wrong, I think, and if too many do it they will be creating a monopoly for Amazon. Serve them right!

So, consider, if you hve a strong simple message burning in you and you want to get it out there, do as I have done. One problem, one solution, one sitting. Then upload that sucker, fearlessly.

‘goddess grotto’ video no. 1 uploaded now

I’ve been away on a mission to help a magical site see the light of day, here at ‘Deb’s Enchanted Cottage’. Apologies to

I’ve finally put up one of the videos I took as I broke through six inches of concrete to this secret chamber, actually the old tank in the cottage, which we drained but found to have a whole lower level which remained full of lovely cold water (which I later swam in, and so (very briefly!) did doglet Poppy).

There’s more to be done, but Debs is well on the way to having a magical shop in the cottage, built by a lone ‘hippie hermit’ years ago. She already has a huge ‘retro’ collection of clothes and shoes and paraphernalia. Corner of Tara road and Kaiwaka-mangawhai road, just out of mangawhai township. She is offering ‘herbs, healing and massage’ as well as all my books and jewellery etc.

<iframe width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”; frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

woops the embed didnt work? here is thelink to the video:

share this and spread the word about this magical place… also see her new (in progress) site

This is a more recent shot of the doorway to the grotto, also the halloween we had at the cottage, etc:

The putting out of the shingle – at last! I did it. AND wrote a book.

Well today I just finished the painful process of hauling my stuff out into the open. I actually put out that sign tonight when i was sure enough I would have the advertised free book.

I actually wrote that book TODAY! Alright I did quote myself a bit – put in some of my blog posts. But it is 74 pages long, A6 (‘passport’) format, and it is my long-postponed How to be a Wizard. Here is the cover as of last night:

and the back:

Now I’d better wind down for the night… Exciting in a sober sort of way – this is to be a free book for people who call in and meet me at the ark or customers at Cafe Eutopia, a kind of extended ‘business card’ for all I do, especially the School of wisdom and wizardry I guess. Oh and the flow rainbow and Personal Process Profiling service…

So, the best thing in writing the book today i got into what it IS to me to be a ‘wizard’, a believer in the Transcendental Order and synchronicity,  and a would-be Defender of the True West. That is priceless. of course, especially when one has not gone there for a while due to immersion in mechanical details world weariness and a little too much coffee and not enough meditating and exercise….

Let’s start a ‘mastermind group’

one idea i had after my epiphany was start a ‘mastermind group’ Have you heard of that concept? kind of open-ended ‘enterprise and being unlimited together’ kind of group. I think it comes from napoleon Hill. He knew a thing or two about what generates wealth, and this was his top secret: to get with others of like mind, and resonate together until you are all vibrating at a way higher level than you ever could alone.

At Kaiwaka magic mind lounge, and other locations around northland, NZ…

or also virtually?

Again, email me!

In search of the Lost Chord

Are we humans just too damned multifarious to understand urselves? Are we doomed to endless confusion and conflict?

I’ve been wrestling with myself. (Again!?) The many-headed hydra of the multifarious human. Divided we fall. Too many cooks (in one kitchen) spoil the broth. An old friend just visited and commented that he’d like to support and root for whatever it is that I am starting, but he’s never sure exactly what it IS… Too multifarious, too seemingly fragmented, too many blogs (fifteen now, give or take a domain)

Is this a problem I should burden you with? Am I such a small minority that I should just shut up, and like the people said to Jesus, ‘Physician, heal thyself’?

I know I am an extreme case, but the extreme cases are often useful to study – they can shed light on the less obvious manifestations in the majority. I ‘m sure we ALL have this ‘multifariousness’ issue to deal with. We humans are all multidimensional beings – even ‘normal’ people’. The Tree of Life/Flow Rainbow ( (and process theory) tells us we may be at any one time operating at, or affected by, one or more of four basic levels of being:

The Inorganic: physics and basic chemistry of the physical – (eg gravity, mercury in our teeth) Biological (our basic drives like hunger, sex) Social (eg the herd instinct, the follow the leader instinct, the drive for celebrity, belonging, love, etc) and Intellectual (eg the interest in finding out how humans work (driving me now), how life works, how an ant or a galaxy works, what is good and what is bad, what are the categories of existence, etc). (I think the Spiritual is a combination of all these, and maybe transcends them. A bit like the ‘vanishing point’ on a painting…)

Then there are many divisions within each of these levels. Many biological drives and functions, many more social, and even more intellectual – level after level, division after division of rational inquiry. And most of all these levels and divisions are fighting for dominance or survival inside us.

But wait, it gets worse! If my theory is right, hidden within all these co-existing, and often warring, levels of being is a whole other dynamic with its own complexity: the logic of process itself. Every process of sufficient complexity has five aspects or phases : Input/receptivity/observation; novelty/imagination/guessing; Reaction/planning/logic, output/defence/testing, and status quo/stable systematic functioning.

EVERY process or entity, including humans. So we may prefer one of these process phases to all the others, and fight against the others, often unconsciously. A lot of inter-human conflict is aspectual conflict, disguised as hatred of a particular group or person who happens to favour one of the aspects of process that we (often unconsciously) resist. And much of the rest is inter-LEVEL conflict. So an artist may hate the policeman, and vice versa. But the artist is just doing their novelty thing, in response to new input, perhaps at the intellectual level, (and-or perhaps the biological or social), while the policeman is just doing their output/defence thing for the Status Quo, at the social level, in response to the logic/planning

aspect of society. In their own process zone and level, what they each do is moral and good; to each other though they can seem like the personification of evil.

I believe there is reason to hope that all this will pass, as humans gradually ‘get’ this bigger picture, and we learn to use a new ‘co-ordinate system’ which ‘places’ all individual processs in a level and an aspectual zone – and when we  see that there IS one multifarious Whole which evolves because of all these seemingly conflicting levels and aspects of our process being.  But we will only really ‘get’ that when we experience it unifying our own inner complexity, harmonising the discords. To find our own inner ‘Lost Chord’ (see the Moody Blues  album ‘In Search of the Lost Chord‘) is to do that, whether in full intellectual awareness or at an intuitive level.

Before his visit, I had one day when I listened to symphony no. 3 by St Saens while working on the prototypes for the physical desktop ‘flow rainbow’ (aka flowbow), and the way that symphony builds with various broken and seemingly unrelated themes, to a seeming conclusion, an anticlimax. But into the silence a single massive chord breaks forth, multifarious in its reverberations yet single and unified. Then all the other themes come back and are fulfilled and the whole goes to a new level before coming to a triumphant conclusion. This is exactly what I feel when I ‘see the light’, have a new unifying idea, understand a whole area of life in a new way. It is also what we feel when we feel ourselves suddenly unified after a long period of fragmentation. All the fragments take on new meaning and are connected.

Here’s to that near-miracle! Let’s seek to be multifarious – in unity of mind and spirit. Let’s seek that Lost Chord!

If this possibility stirs you, go to my blog click on the ‘follow this rainbow’ button. That’s where I will be ‘showing and telling’ about this unifying vision and method of understanding any situation or process, and becoming much more powerful in life and work. The physical flow rainbow, the questionnaire to find your aspectual and life profile, and the rainbow graphic for your computer desktop will all be there too.  See you over the Rainbow!

The Wizdom Tree Game

This is a photo of the prototype table-sized game (working title ‘Wizdom Tree’ as wisdom tree is an investment company ) taken by smartphone by not-so-smart phone user, me, who finally got the samsung ‘kies’ program download so he could get his 150-odd photos off the dang thing. Well yay – now! The technology works – now. but it took a foray into google to find out how. why is the tech so smart but the interface so autistic?

I have almost decided that it’s best to just print out the game rather than carve and cast it with marble tracks. Partly because it’s so much brighter, partly since it allows game to be played with the smooth washable glass surface on it, and also because I know it’s mainly about  the ideas, which keep evolving. If it is a graphic I can update and tweak and print out, instead of having to re-carve and cast it, AND stain in the various colours. So, once again digital wins. Ultimate would be to have a colour touchscreen the size of a tabletop/ maybe next year!? ipads are just the beginning.

John O’Neill goes public with a great Irish novel

Tonight I’m having fun setting him loose in WordPress. Children of the Cromlech is his new book. see

We have printed the book here at new leaf network, and next comes the Kindle version! World, here comes a new author!

Here is a picture from the book

So, check out Children of the Cromlech, if you have any interest in a short, moving yet understated coming of age novel set in post-WW2 Ireland.

John is presently sitting in our office in the Story Ark typing to the world his first blog post. 🙂 I assured him nothing’s written in stone; he can erase. he said, the Druids werent so lucky – if their chisel slipped for example, it would have been a long grind to smooth away the rock face…

The Lifetree Lounge

The Tree of Life game is developing again – on a bigger table – and i plan to host philosophy/game workshops in the hall, or ‘lounge’ as i am calling it now – more homely…

I am looking for the best names. The hall is now the Lifetree Lounge. at present iv’e got a sign stencilled:

but nothing’s written in stone!

i want to teach creative thinking, what Whitehead called ‘Adventures of ideas’,  interactively using the Game,  so people – friends, couples, enterprises, groups – experience ‘being’ Love, Beauty, Truth and Freedom by playing the game together. The aim is not to teach metaphysical doctrines, but a graphic model and tool for understanding any process, including  one’s own mind… (this understanding is never complete – Godel proved it’s impossible for any system to know itself completely – but it’s so worth going on the journey of self-awareness).
Lifetree is a method for ‘defragmenting’ the mind and uncovering its rules and presuppositions so as to be able to move forward/grow with new clarity, and to find what we are most naturally passionate about – our life purpose.

Interested? Come along and play the game – there is a rule booklet and also i would play it with you and guide you through the Tree of Life ‘labyrinth’.

i need guineapigs, ‘early adopters’ and beta testers….
